IDPF Groups

The IDPF conducts its standards and trade activities through the operation of Working Groups and Special Interest Groups. All Working Groups and Special Interest Groups meet face to face throughout the year, via regular teleconference calls and via email lists that the IDPF provides. Access to meeting, teleconference and email lists are all benefits of membership.

Working Groups (WG)
are a subset of IDPF Members who engage in projects in furtherance of the IDPF's purpose and mission. Working Groups are the only groups in the IDPF with the authority to produce official IDPF documents such as specifications and process documents (such as the policies and procedures, position papers, best practices etc.). For more information on the formal definition and activities of Working Groups, please see our Policies and Procedures.

Special Interest Groups (SIG) are also a subset of IDPF Members who engage in dialogue and discussion on issues that pertain to the electronic publishing industry. Special Interest Groups cannot produce any official output documents in the IDPF. However, SIGs can produce Informational Documents. These are documents that a SIG feels are relevant to the members of the IDPF. The documents typically include white papers, commentaries, or other relevant documents.
