IDPF Board of Director Vote Results

Dear IDPF Members,

Voting closed to fill two open IDPF Board of Director positions on 2400 EST, Wednesday, January 10th. There were 91 members eligible for voting and an established quorum of 46 members. 63 members voted. The vote used the Alternative Voting procedure to choose from a sub-set of alternatives as defined by the IDPF Policies & Procedures Section 2.4.1. There were seven candidates for the two positions. Each FOR choice received one point and the candidates with the most points won. In this election, there was a tie for the second Board seat. In the event of a tie, for the choices with the least meaningful points, a run off will be held for the choices using Alternative Voting. The results of the candidates in question are the following:

George Kerscher, DAISY Consortium - 30 Votes
Peter Brantley, University of California Press - 24 Votes
Malle Vallik, Harlequin Enterprises, Ltd. - 24 Votes

George Kerscher of the DAISY Consortium was elected to the Board of Directors.

A run off election will now be held between Peter Brantley, University of California Press and Malle Vallik of Harlequin Enterprises, Ltd. The election will begin immediately and end 2400 EST on Friday, January 19th. Nomination statements from the candidates can be found at:

Peter Brantley - http://www.idpf.org/events/voting/pbrantleynomination12-06.htm
Malle Vallik - http://www.idpf.org/events/voting/valliknomination12-06.htm

The vote will be a Remote Vote (via email). Each IDPF Member company or organization in good standing can cast one FOR vote for the candidate that they wish to fill the remaining vacant Board position. If you do not wish to vote for a particular candidate for the Board, please return your vote with a notice of "ABSTAIN" in order to reach a quorum for voting.

Please send your company/organization vote to Nick Bogaty with your organization's name in the subject line and your vote in the body of the email.

Please note that votes made by members in good standing only will be considered valid and counted. Members in good standing are up-to-date on member dues. If your company or organization is not current on member dues, please contact the IDPF to pay your dues prior to casting your vote.

I would like to thank and congratulate all of the nominees in this election.

Thank you for your participation.

Best,
Nick
