The systems working group is
responsible for ensuring that all IDPF standards and other IDPF products fit
together to provide a unified solution for stakeholders of the electronic
publishing ecology. To do this, it (a) defines and maintains an overall
framework into which all IDPF standards and activities fit, (b) performs
technical and non-technical integration work to ensure that the deliverables
from multiple working groups are combined (and are combinable) to produce a
coherent and compatible set of IDPF products; (c) issues a Systems Integration
Statement to accompany each deliverable from a topic-specific working group as
the deliverable leaves that working groups and enters the formal approval
processes of the IDPF.
The
Systems Working Group's scope spans almost all developed work products of the
IDPF, technical and otherwise. Its responsibilities include the ongoing
maintenance of the Framework document, the review and evaluation of all
deliverables from topic-specific working groups, and ³ most importantly ³ the
harmonizing of those deliverables against each other. In addition, the Systems
Working Group maintains the IDPF Product Roadmap, monitoring the schedules of
the Requirements Working Group and the topic-specific working groups.
The Systems WG maintains documents and
discussion in the following areas available to IDPF members only:
